SPARC-Monitor<\/h3>\n

Medical technology for intensive care units<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SPARC (Science – Powered – AutoRegulation and Compliance) Monitor monitors cerebral autoregulation and intracranial compliance in patients in neurological\/neurosurgical intensive care units.<\/p>\n

Cerebral autoregulation enables the brain to maintain constant blood flow, even when blood pressure fluctuates. Intracranial compliance describes the ability to compensate for volume changes in the skull. Disruptions to these mechanisms, often caused by severe traumatic brain injury or intracranial haemorrhage, can lead to complications such as brain damage or increased intracranial pressure (ICP). Continuous monitoring enables early detection of such problems and the initiation of appropriate therapeutic measures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

ERIK<\/h3>\n

Biomechatronics Software<\/strong><\/p>\n

The research project ERIK deals with the development of a robot capable of interacting with autistic children in order to support the development of socio-emotional skills during therapy. The robot Pepper comprehends both the child\u2019s facial expressions and speech. He interprets these signals and deduces emotions in real time. Due to this, therapy scenarios can be individually adjusted. Pepper can realistically interact with children using gestures and eye movements.<\/p>\n

ASTRUM IT is in charge of the integration and processing of the data used for quantitative and qualitative therapy assessment. The findings are visualized on a dashboard. Besides, ASTRUM IT implements an interface by means of which the interaction strategies applied during the therapy are evaluated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\u2018I started as a software developer at ASTRUM IT straight after my maths degree. At the beginning, I mainly worked in the C# environment, and later switched to a large customer project. Since 2011, I have also been responsible for several employees as a team leader.<\/em><\/p>\n

Almost from the very beginning, I developed software in the field of medical technology. I was encouraged and supported by ASTRUM IT through extensive familiarisation with the various software development and project management methods with the help of a wide range of training courses. This wide-ranging training concept – the \u2018ASTRUM IT Software Expert\u2019 – is still one of the cornerstones of employee development today.<\/em><\/p>\n

The family atmosphere at ASTRUM IT already struck me during my job interviews. This has not changed over the years. Here, employees are recognised and valued as people within the company.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

What will my first day at work be like?<\/strong>
\nYour team leader or head of department will welcome you, take you on a tour of the premises, you will meet some of your colleagues, have your workstation explained, and receive a short project presentation; after that there will be a lunch break together with your team colleagues.<\/p>\n

What qualification is required?<\/strong>
\nA degree in computer science (and\/or MINT subjects) or other adequate education, good soft skills, team spirit, eagerness to learn new technologies, and an analytical mindset.<\/p>\n

Are there any internships or student trainee schemes available?<\/strong>
\nYes. Depending on the current projects, we are regularly in search of student trainees and\/or interns to actively support the team. Speculative applications are always welcome, too.<\/p>\n

Is there also a trainee program?<\/strong>
\nThere is currently no trainee program offered, since we are quite confident that direct participation in a project is a more targeted way of entering your professional life. Your start will be optimally supported through continuous knowledge exchange with your team colleagues and the team leader.<\/p>\n
