Multimodal, centralized data collection and provision
Cross-media data integration of measurement data
How we massively relieved our client's employees by automating data integration in a non-big data, but simply real need.
1. starting position
- Our customer’s department has the task of monitoring many distributed server systems and installed applications.
- The evaluation of the system key figures (CPU utilization, number of sessions, etc.) was originally carried out manually, individually per system and document-based.
- The data had to be prepared individually on the distributed systems and transferred manually to a central evaluation point.
- The evaluation of the monitoring data was time-consuming and was only carried out very sporadically due to the effort involved.
- Employees were heavily involved in administrative activities.
- The logistical problems were manifold, in particular the technical possibilities of data collection in the target infrastructures were restrictive due to the individual IT departments.
We found the following situations:
- No restriction
- All network traffic was prohibited, e-mail was permitted
- All network traffic was prohibited, data had to be transferred via USB
- Established communication via certain channels was allowed, e.g. via Nextcloud
2. procedure/solution approach
- In order to provide similar environments for different customers, an approach had to be developed.
