ChatGPT – Will OpenAI’s chatbot lead us into the future?
Since OpenAI released its ChatGPT bot in November 2022, numerous users have been experimenting with the tool. "GPT" stands for "Generative Pre-training Transformer". This is an artificial intelligence that is used to generate human-like texts.
We found the topic so interesting that it was recently discussed in one of our internal learning circles, the ITalks. In our latest blog post, we asked our colleague and course instructor Jonas for more details.
How does the integration of new colleagues work?
The first days of work are always exciting and thrilling. New colleagues, a new team, new tasks. That's why it's all the more important to pick up the new employees right from the start and make their start easier. Jasmin Schellenberger is responsible for recruiting at ASTRUM IT and reports in this interview on how onboarding works and what the new colleagues can expect in the first few weeks.
Udemy and Pluralsight for individual career training
The topic of continuing education and training is an important aspect of our daily work. At ASTRUM IT, further development has always been a top priority. As early as 2008, we launched the ASTRUM IT Academy and last year expanded the offering to include external learning platforms. Now our colleagues can use the learning platforms Udemy and Pulralsight for their individual, professional training during work and private.
A learning cloud for the Tennenlohe elementary school
Our education platform has already been in use at Tennenlohe Elementary School since April 2020 - as a "virtual school building. The integrated system consists of course platform, video conferencing solution and document management. As a result, distance learning was/is conducted entirely via the platform and supports students, parents and teachers in their respective tasks.
Another wonderful use case that Tennenlohe Elementary School has tapped into is the "on-boarding" of new students: the "wiggle teeth" from kindergarten are given access and, together with their parents, can discover and explore the school even before school officially starts. We talked to the school principal, Mrs. Reichel, about her experiences.

POWERWEEK for the city of Blumberg
Cities are largely responsible for the quality of life of their residents. Alongside electricity, gas and water supply, digital infrastructure has long been one of the basic needs of residents. However, digitization presents many cities with a major challenge. A good IT infrastructure is a basic prerequisite for mastering tasks such as broadband expansion and fast, easy-to-use Internet. Our customer - the city of Blumberg in Baden-Württemberg with more than ten thousand inhabitants - has set itself the goal of municipal digitization. Considerable efforts have therefore been made in recent years. By using modern and efficient means, the city administration wants to secure its future viability.
Erlangen-based ASTRUM IT with New Shareholders and New Management
As a young startup company, Erlangen-based ASTRUM IT GmbH received all important founders’ prizes in the 1990s. After its founder, Walter Greul, left the company, the IT experts will now start into the future with new shareholders and a new management team.
Under the new leadership, ASTRUM IT will position itself as a specialist for digital vitality in the future and will intensify its focus on fast-growing business areas: IT engineering, security, IT services and consulting.
